RemoteMan is a support tool designed specifically to monitor OrderFlow server environments. RemoteMan captures information about the memory and processor usage and displays it in a graphical format that allows problems and trends to be quickly identified. Information about the server environment can be compared with the volume of orders processed in the same period and used to ensure the OrderFlow environment is suitably configured for the projected future load that will be placed upon it.
RemoteMan is used by Realtime Despatch to support our hosted services, it is also available to customers who host their own OrderFlow environments.
The automatic monitoring provided by RemoteMan allows support staff to proactively anticipate and avoid performance problems caused by spikes in system load. It also alerts technical staff to system outages, allowing them to react as fast as possible, minimising user downtime.
RemoteMan will raise alarms if an OrderFlow environment becomes unavailable or if server environment variables exceed the thresholds that have been defined for a particular environment.
Alarms are raised by email or through an SMS gateway. Alarms follow a defined escalation process in which a nominated contact is notified and prompted to acknowledge the alert. If the alert is not acknowledged within a defined timeframe it is broadcast more widely.
The OrderFlow scheduled reporting function includes a library of automated reports that can be used to notify support staff of activity within an OrderFlow environment that may require their attention.
OrderFlow supports the use of external JMXmonitoring tools, allowing OrderFlow to be plugged into the monitoring environments used in larger enterprise networks.
