OrderFlow WMS flexes its muscles with bulk warehousing client

Oct 9, 2019
Nexus Group launched a new business, Black Box Warehousing Solutions, to expand the company’s offering to include bulk warehousing.

Nexus Group has worked with Realtime Despatch since 2017, using the OrderFlow warehouse management system (WMS) to manage its South African e-commerce fulfilment business.

It has launched a new business, Black Box Warehousing Solutions, to expand the company’s offering to include bulk warehousing.

Management of bulk and palletised goods

“We recognised that some of our clients were looking for short and long-term management of bulk and palletised goods which did not require any level of fine picking. Black Box Warehousing looked to be a natural fit with Nexus Fulfilment, which works to a fine picking and kitting level,” says Robbie Ferns, Sales and Marketing Director.

“So, for clients that don’t need a fine picking solution, we now have a better fit for them. In addition Black Box is 51% black-owned business, something we’re exceptionally proud of, as we continue as a group to address the inequalities of the past within South Africa. There’s a business benefit to this too – some clients prefer to work with businesses that are black-owned as they can get more points on procurement spend.”

Bulk and batch tracking WMS functionality

The Realtime Despatch team was keen to take this opportunity to showcase the flexibility of the OrderFlow platform.

Working closely and quickly with Nexus and Black Box, the team defined the new client profiles to give Black Box customers real-time visibility and reporting of stock and movement.

“They worked at great speed,” says Robbie, “we were up and running with our first client within a week. We’ve been working with OrderFlow since we started Nexus Fulfilment and now we’ve been able to introduce a new company within that group using the same WMS. The system is super flexible, it’s great at all levels, whether you’re fine picking or bulk picking OrderFlow can handle it all.”
