GDPR compliance made easy with new OrderFlow update:GDPR compliance made easy with new OrderFlow update

May 11, 2018

The latest OrderFlow update from Realtime Despatch includes a number of changes that will make it easier for users to comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into force on 25th May.

The GDPR requires users to support a Right to Access and a Right to be Forgotten. Prior to the new 3.8.6 release, complying with the GDPR involved Realtime Despatch’s support staff processing Right of Access and Right to be Forgotten requests manually.

Respond to GDPR requests directly

The new GDPR features in version 3.8.6 make it possible for OrderFlow customers to respond to GDPR requests themselves.

Users can export a structured data file showing all the personal data that relates to a specific order, plus suitably authorised users can choose to anonymise the data if requested.

Anonymise sensitive customer data

This latest OrderFlow release also introduces support for a background process that will automatically anonymise all sensitive customer data after their order has been processed.

Users will be able to configure the time between the completion of the customer order and the anonymisation process. As an example, this could be used to ensure that an OrderFlow environment only holds customers’ personal data for ninety days after despatch of their order before all their potentially sensitive personal data is removed.
